In the search for the paranormal we most often find ourselves investigating places where terrifying and terrible things have happened. (ex. Waverly, the Oxford Lights, etc.) My question is, why?
If one believes these entities are in fact spirits drawn back or unable to leave, why are spirits not also drawn to places of great pleasure or comfort to them during their living years?
If you believe these are energetic imprints left in a place where great emotional and/or physical energy was exerted, do we not also express great energy when we are happy? Even current energetic imprints of repetitive activities tend to be left in places where some negative event has occurred.
Perhaps it is my living pursuit of happiness leading me to think spirits would be equally, if not more, drawn to places of comfort or positive experience. Regardless I am perplexed and wondering if others might have some ideas.
Whit,
ReplyDeleteI agree with what you said. I found it just as exciting to investigate a place that has had wonderful romance for many years and that energy has been left behind. I also love the scary and unpleasant places that experienced tragedy and untimely deaths. The thought of happiness and romance showing up in evidence or an EVP tape that can't be dismissed by a logical explaination is a much more hopeful finding to me. Romance in the afterlife, not a bad idea! Alicia Kincaid, SLP
I think a lot of times it seems that these spirits remain in negative places and contribute to that energy but it also seems that many of these spirits remain tied to this earth because of happiness, love, comfort, etc.--that seemed to be the case with our last private investigation anyhow.
ReplyDeleteBut I think you're onto something with the number of negative events and certainly with hauntings reported by people experiencing negative entities. I think this may have to do with the power of negative thought--it is repetitive, self-defeating, etc. Beings that are tied to this energy have a harder time leaving it. It's kind of like how if you've had one bad day, the effect can ripple and grow because of the ease of repetition. It can seem more difficult to remain positive in the face of negativity, simply because of the way our world embraces that repetition of trauma, conflict, and violence. We all know that positive energy is much stronger, so it would seem logical to find more happy beings on the other side. It's quite a conundrum and I can't help but think it's got to have something to do with the repetitive and magnetic power of negative vibration. While happy attracts happy, love attracts love, etc., it seems that negativity, hate, and gloom seem to manifest all manner of ugly things, which tend to increase in nastiness as time goes on. What do you think?
